Request form for hard drive destruction
Do you have IT equipment you want to sell, dispose of, or reuse? Prevent confidential company data from ending up in unwanted places by choosing to destroy your hard drives, solid-state drives (SSDs), and other data carriers. Fill out the form below to easily request a proposal.
How hard drive destruction works
Want to have your business hard drives or SSDs securely destroyed? Here’s how we do it.
1
A non-binding proposal for the destruction of your hard drives.
2
Our own pickup service collects the hard drives and SSDs.
3
The data on the data carriers is destroyed.
4
The hardware is recycled or reused where possible.
5
You receive a report of the data destruction.
Destroying SSDs and hard drives
Destroying hard drives is essential to prevent sensitive data from your organization from falling into the wrong hands. There are two options: data destruction and data carrier destruction. In data destruction (also known as data wiping), all data on the hard drive is permanently deleted using certified software, allowing the data carrier to be reused. In data carrier destruction, however, the carriers are physically rendered unusable by advanced shredding or degaussing machines, after which they are recycled through Dutch, Weeelabex-certified recycling partners.
Certified data carrier destruction
Want to have your data carriers, such as hard drives and SSDs, destroyed? Our process meets all legal requirements, and we hold ISO 27001, 14001, 9001, and Weeelabex certifications. 7Digits is your ITAD partner!
Data wiping or physical data carrier destruction
Hard drive destruction can be done in various ways, including data wiping and physical data carrier destruction, depending on your needs. For data wiping, we use certified software like YouWipe, Certus, and Blancco, which ensures permanent data removal without physically damaging the data carrier. This allows the data carrier to be reused and extends the lifespan of your IT hardware. If a hard drive is damaged and cannot be overwritten, we provide safe dismantling and destruction via shredding or degaussing. Our processes promote circularity through efficient refurbishment.
In data carrier destruction, degaussing and shredding are effective methods. Degaussing permanently removes data by demagnetizing the disk, making reuse impossible. After degaussing, the materials are carefully recycled. Shredding is a process where data carriers, such as hard drives, SSDs, and USB sticks, are physically shredded, which completely excludes reuse. All our destruction processes comply with the European DIN 66399 standard and come with detailed reports for full traceability.
